Start with your real schedule
Think about the week you already have. Do you take something at the same time every day, only on certain days, or every few hours? Try building that schedule before you add the rest of your medicines. It is the quickest way to find out whether the app fits your routine.
- More than one time per day
- Different times on different days
- Schedules that repeat every few hours
- Food or time-of-day notes
- Easy changes when your routine shifts
Know what kind of alert you will get
A standard notification, an alarm, and a critical alert behave differently. Check which options the app supports, what permissions they need, and whether a missed reminder stays visible or appears again later.
- Standard reminders
- Alarm options
- Missed-dose follow-ups
- Behavior during Focus or Do Not Disturb
- Timers that begin after you log a medicine
Check privacy before adding your history
Medication schedules and records can reveal sensitive details. Read both the App Store privacy label and the developer’s privacy policy. Look for clear answers about accounts, advertising, analytics, and any feature that sends information away from your device.
Think past the first reminder
The features that matter after a few weeks may be different from the ones that catch your attention on day one. Try the app with sample data and see whether logging, checking supply, finding past records, and exporting a report still feel straightforward.
- Apple Watch viewing and logging
- Stock, batch, and expiry records
- Useful report filters
- VoiceOver and larger text
- Clear free and paid limits
